    Mech supports OpenAI (including GPT-4), Anthropic (Claude), and Google Gemini. You bring your own API key, so you're billed directly by the provider at their standard rates — Mech does not mark up AI usage.

  • Do I need to use my own API key?

    Yes. AI features in Mech are powered by your own third-party API credentials. This gives you full control over which model you use, your usage limits, and your billing — and ensures your conversation data is governed by your chosen provider's data policies.

  • How does Mech keep the AI on-brand?

    You can train the AI on your help center articles, product catalog, and custom Q&A pairs. The AI uses this context to respond accurately and in the tone that matches your store.

  • What happens when the AI can't resolve a ticket?
